About ACURA Ham Radio Club

Welcome to the ACURA ham radio club, the Atlantic Coast United Radio Association. We’re not your Grandpa’s Radio Club! Instead, we keep it fun and a little unconventional. Although we hope you will join, membership is not required to take part in ACURA events, such as ARRL Field Day.

What the ACURA Ham Radio Club Does

The ACURA ham radio club brings South Jersey operators together on the air and in person. In addition, we run a network of linked repeaters on 2 meters, 70 centimeters, 220 MHz and 6 meters, so you can reach the group from almost anywhere along the shore.

Meanwhile, we also take part in public service work. For example, members help with the Atlantic County AUXCOMM and SKYWARN practice net on Monday evenings. As a result, the club is ready to help when the community needs radio operators.

Every Thursday at 7:00 pm Eastern, we hold our club net on the linked repeaters. Newcomers are always welcome to check in. Also, our volunteer examiner team gives license exams, so you can earn your first license or upgrade close to home. See our testing schedule for the next session.

New to the hobby? Start with our New Hams page. After that, you can read about club membership or simply come to a meeting and say hello. Above all, we want people to have fun with radio.

ACURA is a proud part of the national amateur radio community. For more about the hobby itself, visit the ARRL guide to ham radio.
