Supporting the Future of Amateur Radio Through Music
Hello, and thank you for visiting.
My name is William A. Guerro Sr., W4WAG, and I am a Retired Police Officer and a proud member of the Atlantic Coast United Radio Association (ACURA Ham Radio Club) in Galloway Township, New Jersey. In addition to being an active Amateur Radio operator, I am also a country music songwriter whose music is available on all major streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music among others, under the artist name Forest Raynes.
Over the last year or so, I have combined two of my greatest passions—country music and Amateur Radio—by writing and recording songs that celebrate the people, experiences, and spirit of the Ham Radio community. From chasing DX and operating during Field Day to the friendships formed across the airwaves, to a winter of 2026 trip to Alaska for “Winter Field Day 2026” with the Alaska Ham Radio Adventurers Club KL7ADV, for which I wrote the album “Aurora Carryin’ My Call” about the Ham Radio Trip of a Lifetime. All of these songs are my way of sharing the hobby that has meant so much to me.
This page features the Amateur Radio-themed songs that I have written and released to date. More importantly, these songs serve a greater purpose. All streaming proceeds generated from this music will be donated at the end of each year to support the ARRL Teachers Institute, a remarkable program that equips educators with the knowledge and resources needed to bring wireless technology, electronics, and STEM education into today’s classrooms.
By simply listening, streaming, and sharing these songs, you are helping support a program that introduces future generations to the science, technology, and excitement of Amateur Radio. Every stream helps contribute to a worthwhile cause that invests in education and inspires young minds.
If you enjoy country music and believe in the future of Amateur Radio, I invite you to listen often, share the music with friends, and help spread the word about this important mission.
Thank you for your support and for helping make a difference through the power of music and Amateur Radio.
As a side note, there is one non-Ham Radio song that I have posted here at the bottom of this page. The song is titled “October on the Boardwalk.” This song is very personal to me. It is about growing up in Atlantic City, New Jersey, in the late 1970s and early 1980s, and about losing a high school friend and teammate, Atlantic City Police Officer Peter Egnor, who was killed in the line of duty on October 14, 1981. Pete was just 20 years old!
I was fortunate to be able to see and talk with Pete one last time on the night of October 12 and into the early morning hours of October 13, 1981, on the beach in Atlantic City, the night before his untimely passing, while he was assigned to crowd control duties as the famed Million Dollar Pier was burning down.

The ARRL Teachers Institute on Wireless Technology is a donor-funded professional development program designed to help classroom teachers elevate their STEM programs through the use of wireless technology. As a part of the ARRL Education & Technology Program, several sessions are conducted each year, and the program continues to grow. Teachers Institute is filled with lectures, hands-on activities, and demonstrations to inspire teachers so they can inspire their students through the use of tools and strategies to introduce basic electronics, radio science, satellite communications, Amateur Radio, radio direction finding (fox hunting), weather science, microcontrollers, and electronic sensors to their students. Teachers are provided with the equipment needed to take wireless technology to their classrooms. If you, or someone you know, would like to support ARRL’s mission to elevate STEM programs in schools, click here: DONATE TODAY or contact the ARRL Development Office at (860)594-0291.

I also have several other Country Music Albums and Singles that I have written that are NOT Ham Radio related (see Forest Raynes above) and also I have one album that I have written that is out now by female artist Emma Rivers. If you like Country Music check them out and let me know what you think!
73!
